About the USMA
The United States Medical Association (USMA) is a national medical association committed to supporting physicians, protecting independent medical practice, and preserving the integrity of the doctor–patient relationship.
USMA serves physicians across specialties and career stages by providing education, advocacy, and professional resources that strengthen the practice of medicine in the United States.
Professional Collaboration and Physician Support
USMA facilitates professional collaboration through structured physician networking, leadership engagement, and educational forums. Members have access to resources that support practice operations, financial planning, and long-term professional stability.
USMA supports physicians practicing independently, within hospital systems, and those entering the profession.
Advocacy and Public Policy
Through its 501(c)(4) auxiliary, the USMA actively engages in advocacy to support physicians and their autonomy. We champion state and federal legislation that promotes:

Our Mission
The USMA maintains that the art and science of medicine perform best when physicians are in charge of their own practices and patients are able to independently design their care with their doctors.
The USMA shall pursue an agenda that strives to minimize the external influences on the practice of medicine. Above all, the USMA will serve as a fiduciary to the House of Medicine.

The USMA was founded by physicians who recognized a growing need for a medical association that puts doctors—and their patients—first. In response to increasing external control over healthcare, we built a platform that empowers doctors to reclaim their voice, protect their profession, and serve patients without compromise.
