About the USMA
The United States Medical Association (USMA) is a national organization dedicated to empowering physicians, protecting medical practice, and strengthening the doctor–patient relationship.
America’s Source for Medical Education
The United States Medical Association (USMA) is a national organization dedicated to empowering physicians and advancing the future of American medicine. We provide a full complement of CME and medical education services through digital and in-person opportunities. The USMA will also promote changes that will positively shape the face of graduate and postgraduate medical education.
A Platform for Connection and Support
The USMA serves as a conduit through which physicians can network with equally devoted colleagues. We foster physician interaction and professional networking services for physicians through scheduled in-person and virtual interactive activities while providing discounted support products that will allow physicians to better build and maintain their practices, and plan for a secure retirement. Whether you are an independent practitioner, a hospital-based doctor, or a resident entering the field, the USMA is your partner in career growth, collaboration, and support.
Advocating for Physicians, Not Against Them
Through our 501(c)(4) auxiliary, the USMA actively engages in advocacy to support physicians and their autonomy. We champion state and federal legislation that promotes:
Independent medical practice
Physician-led patient care
The development of advanced medical technologies
The continued evolution of medical science
Our Mission
The USMA maintains that the art and science of medicine perform best when physicians are in charge of their own practices and patients are able to independently design their care with their doctors.
The USMA shall pursue an agenda that strives to minimize the external influences on the practice of medicine. Above all, the USMA will serve as a fiduciary to the House of Medicine.
The USMA will uphold and maintain the following core principles as a matter of science and ethics:
To strive for the continuous delivery of the most compassionate and advanced care for Americans.
Support the equal standing of all members of society before the law without favor to any particular group, whether those individuals engage our industry as deliverers of care, or its recipients.
Work to create legal and administrative environment that supports America's practices and enables physician to craft the best possible care for their patients independent of external influences.
To ensure that, above all, the doctor-patient relationship reigns supreme, and that no policy or rule, or law acts to interfere with the sanctity of that relationship.
Core Principles
We uphold the following values as both scientific and ethical imperatives:
Excellence in Care: To continually advance and deliver the most compassionate and cutting-edge care to the American people.
Equality Under the Law: To support the equal treatment of all individuals—practitioners and patients alike—without favor or bias.
Freedom in Practice: To advocate for a legal and administrative environment that allows physicians to design and deliver optimal care, free from undue influence.
Sanctity of the Doctor-Patient Relationship: To ensure that no policy, regulation, or law comes between a patient and their physician.

Our Story & Vision
The USMA was founded by physicians who recognized a growing need for a medical association that puts doctors—and their patients—first. In response to increasing external control over healthcare, we built a platform that empowers doctors to reclaim their voice, protect their profession, and serve patients without compromise.
As we look to the future, the USMA envisions a healthcare system in which doctors are trusted leaders, innovation is embraced, and every patient receives care that is both personal and principled.
